Product information
Forced-Air Laboratory Freezer with ATEX Approval for Hazardous Areas
The GRAM BioBasic RF 310 L is a forced-air laboratory freezer with 218 liters of usable capacity for the safe storage of temperature-sensitive samples in the range of -5°C to -25°C. With its ATEX approval according to EN 60079-15 Zone 2, the unit is particularly suitable for laboratories where explosive atmospheres may occur, such as in chemical analysis, pharmaceuticals, or solvent storage. The automatic defrost (Smart defrost) and the specially developed air guidance system guarantee uniform cold distribution without rear wall cooling.
The unit features an acoustic and visual door and temperature alarm as well as a potential-free contact for remote monitoring. With an energy consumption of only 1.56 kWh/24 h and a noise level of 39.9 dB(A), the freezer operates efficiently and quietly. The white-painted sheet steel cabinet with ABS interior material, self-closing door with reversible hinge, and four plastic-coated wire shelves enable flexible and hygienic use. The external dimensions are 595 x 640 x 1220 mm (W x D x H).
A cost-effective biostorage solution with comprehensive ATEX compliance for safe working in hazardous areas. For more information on refrigeration technology and specialized ultra-low temperature freezers, please see our product range. Request your individual quote now!
Frequently Asked Questions About This Model
What applications is the GRAM BioBasic RF 310 L suitable for?
The freezer is ideal for storing temperature-sensitive samples in the range of -5°C to -25°C. Thanks to ATEX approval according to EN 60079-15 Zone 2, it is particularly suitable for laboratories with explosive atmospheres, such as in chemical analysis, pharmaceuticals, or the safe storage of flammable solvents and reagents.
What temperature range and capacity does the unit offer?
The GRAM BioBasic RF 310 L operates in a temperature range of -5°C to -25°C at an ambient temperature of 35°C. The unit has a gross volume of 218 liters and a net volume of 189 liters. The delivery includes three plastic-coated wire shelves as well as a base grid.
Which laboratories and industries is this freezer designed for?
The unit is aimed at laboratories in research, industry, and medicine that require an ATEX-compliant solution for Zone 2. Typical areas of application include chemical and pharmaceutical laboratories, quality control, and all areas where explosive atmospheres may occur while temperature-controlled biostorage solutions are also required.
What distinguishes the GRAM BioBasic from standard freezers?
The key difference lies in the comprehensive ATEX compliance, both internally and externally, according to EN 60079-15 for Zone 2 at no additional cost. In addition, the unit features a special air guidance system with a fin evaporator located outside the interior, which prevents rear wall cooling. Automatic defrosting and re-evaporation of condensate significantly reduce maintenance requirements.
What alarm and monitoring functions are integrated?
The freezer is equipped with an acoustic and visual door and temperature alarm. A potential-free contact enables connection to external monitoring systems. The unit also features a calibration function as well as a door lock. Energy consumption is 1.56 kWh/24 h and the noise level is only 39.9 dB(A).
