Vertical Standalone Autoclave VX-55, 55 l Chamber Volume

for demanding sterilization processes with all options for process optimization

Product information

Sterilization of Laboratory Waste and Media up to 140°C

The vertical floor-standing autoclave VX-55 with 55-liter chamber volume is suitable for demanding sterilization processes in research laboratories, microbiological facilities, and hospital laboratories. With 12 programmable programs, the unit covers all requirements: from destruction sterilization of laboratory waste to the sterilization of solids and instruments to the gentle treatment of liquids. Special programs with pulsating heating phase ensure optimal venting of destruction bags.

The microprocessor control enables individually adjustable processes with temperatures up to 140°C and a pressure up to 4 bar. The separate steam generator without heating elements in the sterilization chamber ensures uniform heat distribution. A flexible PT-100 temperature sensor for reference vessels, electronic pressure transducer, and automatic deionized water supply guarantee reproducible results. The RS 232 interface enables GMP-compliant documentation, and a validation port facilitates qualification measures.

The VX-55 offers flexible process optimization for laboratory and waste sterilization with compact external dimensions of 500 x 680 x 950 mm. Frequently Asked Questions About This Model

What is the vertical floor-standing autoclave VX-55 used for?

The VX-55 is used for sterilizing solids, instruments, plastic items, laboratory waste in destruction bags, and liquids. With 12 programmable programs, it covers rapid sterilization, destruction sterilization, and gentle liquid sterilization with controlled steam release. Special programs with pulsating heating phase optimize the venting of destruction bags.

What temperature and pressure are possible with the VX-55?

The autoclave reaches operating temperatures of up to 140°C at a permissible operating pressure of 4 bar absolute. Temperature and pressure control is performed via an electronic pressure transducer and a flexible PT-100 temperature sensor. The heating output is 3.5 kW at 220-240V, 50/60 Hz, and 16A connection.

Which laboratories is the VX-55 particularly suited for?

With its 55-liter chamber volume, the VX-55 is suitable for research laboratories, microbiological facilities, hospital laboratories, and quality control laboratories. The RS 232 interface, validation port, and optional GMP-compliant documentation systems meet regulatory requirements. Preparation for printer connection, vacuum equipment, and drying enables future upgrades.

How does the VX-55 differ from simpler autoclaves?

The VX-55 features a separate integrated steam generator without heating elements in the sterilization chamber, enabling more uniform sterilization. The novel safety ring closure system with lip seal, the media-temperature-controlled door lock in accordance with DIN and TRB, as well as 12 individually programmable programs offer greater flexibility. The automatic deionized water supply (Autofill) and start-by-clock function enhance operating convenience.

What connections and maintenance does the VX-55 require?

On-site requirements include an electrical connection of 220-240V, 50/60 Hz, 16A, as well as a 3/4" shut-off valve for demineralized water. Optionally, a 3/4" raw water connection is recommended for exhaust steam condensation. A drain with 3/4" hose connection, maximum 500 mm from the floor, is required. The warranty covers one year for material and manufacturing defects, 3 years for heating elements, and 5 years for the pressure vessel and closure mechanisms.
