The MDF-150C226 is specifically designed for the cryopreservation of bio-samples at -125°C to -150°C. It is suitable for biobanks, research laboratories, and medical facilities for the long-term storage of biological materials such as cell lines, DNA samples, plasma, and tissue samples. With a capacity of 16,000 samples in 160 boxes, it provides ample space for extensive sample collections.

The unit reaches a temperature range of -125°C to -150°C and is equipped with a microprocessor control that ensures precise temperature regulation. The 150 mm thick polyurethane insulation and two foamed inner lids optimize temperature stability. An electrically heated gasket surface prevents ice formation on the lid seal. Temperature data can be read out via the USB interface for over 10 years.

The MDF-150C226 is intended for research institutions, university laboratories, biobanks, pharmaceutical companies, and clinics that need to store large quantities of biological samples at ultra-low temperatures. With a volume of 226 liters and the ability to organize 160 boxes with a height of 50 mm in 20 racks, it is ideal for medium to large sample collections.

Compared to standard ultra-low temperature freezers at -80°C, the MDF-150C226 reaches temperatures down to -150°C, providing even safer long-term storage for particularly sensitive samples. The CFC-free hydrocarbon refrigerant with GWP = 0 is more environmentally friendly than many alternatives. The chest design with two inner lids minimizes cold loss when opening better than upright freezers. The integrated backup battery with 48-hour hold time secures the alarm function even during extended power outages.

Optional accessories include racks for various box sizes, polycarbonate boxes, an LN2 backup system with a supply tank, alarm notifications for push messages/SMS/email, as well as fingerprint scanner or chip card unlocking. Maintenance includes regular cleaning of the dust filter on the easily removable front grille with magnetic mounting. The warranty is 12 months in Germany (24 months parts warranty outside Germany), excluding wear parts such as seals and batteries. Two cable feedthroughs (Ø 19 mm) allow the installation of external temperature sensors.
