Laboratory Centrifuges at a Glance

The laboratory centrifuges category combines several subcategories with different technical specifications. From compact microliter centrifuges to large-volume floor-standing centrifuges, models with various speed ranges and RCF values are available, each in cooled or non-cooled versions.

Microliter Centrifuges

Microliter centrifuges are designed for small sample volumes such as 1.5 or 2.0 ml reaction tubes. Models such as the Spectrafuge 16M or the Hermle Z 216 M reach speeds of up to 15,000 min-1 and RCF values ranging from around 16,000 to over 21,000 xg. Cooled variants such as the Prism R or the Z 216 MK enable temperature-controlled applications.

Universal Centrifuges

Universal centrifuges cover larger volume ranges, such as 4 x 100 ml to 6 x 250 ml, as with the Z 306 or Z 366. Both cooled versions, for example the Z 366 K or Z 446 K, and non-cooled models are available, with speeds of up to 16,000 min-1. High-Speed Centrifuges

High-speed centrifuges achieve higher speeds and RCF values, such as the Z 36 HK with up to 30,000 rpm and 65,390 x g or the Z 32 HK with 38,012 x g. The Frontier 5000 Series FC5830R also achieves comparable values of up to 30,000 rpm and 65,395 x g.

Small and Hematocrit Centrifuges

Small centrifuges such as the Z 206 A or Z 207 A are designed for smaller tube formats such as 15 ml tubes and are partly available including an angle rotor. The combination hematocrit centrifuge Z 207 H features a hematocrit rotor for 24 capillary tubes and reaches up to 13,000 min-1.

Floor-Standing Centrifuges

Floor-standing centrifuges such as the cooled ZK 496 are designed for larger volumes up to 4 x 1000 ml and reach up to 10,500 min-1 as well as 16,022 x g. In addition to the floor-standing version, an under-bench variant is also available.
